Incredibly Professional Tripod, Nothing Cheap About it!
The first thing I'm always hesitant about when investing so much money into an item is, is it worth the money? Or is it a complete scam?Well, this is definitely a professional tripod of very good, study, durable quality, and it's got some weight to it.Previously I have only owned a smaller 60 inch or so portable tripod (those that range around $10-20 or so). It did its job, but since it was so light weight, it wasn't very durable, and oftentimes would be quite wobbly on uneven ground; I'd always worry that it's fall over. I assume that if youre looking into this tripod, there is something about it which you cannot get from a cheaper tripod. Since I have owned one, I will reference and often compare this one to my cheaper tripod.Comparatively, upon opening the package, I could immediately feel the sturdy weight to it, and upon some trial I see a lot of small details in functionality that helps so much, and which I was lacking in my mini tripod. This comes with a sturdy case, and also had a little velvet bag covering the quick release area to protect it, nice!My mini tripod has this snap closure at the leg extensions, whereas this one has twist closures at every extendable joint. To be honest, I am not sure if there really is any functional advantage to either one, and I'm not sure that I have a preference/it matters that much. However, these twist joints definitely feel great to use, there is sort of an ergonomic feel when you twist and extend. I can't describe it well, but it's sort of similar to those drawers that when smacked close, they won't slam, but instead slow down right before closing; that's how using this tripod feels like. Every screw, joint, twist, has some sort of ergonomic impact or shock filter to them, which definitely makes the whole experience feel high quality. This tripod is also extends significantly higher than my mini tripod, so I have much more options in what I can shoot. For example, since this tripod is higher than myself, I can now experiment with shooting from high angles or won't be limited in sooting from eye level only.Another small detail I noticed was the rubber feet actually have sort of hidden 'spikes' for what I assume is for 'extreme' terrain? If you screw the feet all the way in, the claw comes out, and if you screw the feet out, they can be hidden. This detail could be very helpful to some professional photogs depending, but again, its just another thoughtful detail. You can see this in my images as well. This tripod can also be converted to a monopod. I had a little bit of a hard time figuring this out, but realized there were two extra pieces in the bag which needed to be used. You must you the extra screw attachment that comes in the bag to do this.Another difference is the quick release. On my mini tripod, a push button would release the camera plate. If you wanted to tilt the camera 90 degrees, you'd have to screw something and the quick release would flip on a hinge. This tripod has a ball joint instead, so if you want to tilt the camera, you just adjust the ball joint. The quick release plate is screwed in instead of push button. To be honest I liked the ease of pushing a button to release the camera plate, but its not a huge deal, and I can see how a screw would be more secure/durable/last longer. The ball joint is definitely an upgrade from the hinge though. On my mini tripod, the hinge was already wearing since all the weight of the camera now lies on it, and overall, it made my quick release sort of loose and wobbly with time. This one is very sturdy and secure, and when tilted 90 degrees, the weight is now distributed throughout the tripod instead of only on a hinge. And now that I've played with it more, id actually take the ease of angling the camera with simply a ball joint motion, rather than having to do the two steps of first twisting the tripod/camera, and then flipping it on the hingeNow the two cons I can think of are firstly, I accidentally took out the inner center column when trying to get it into a monopod, and there were these two plastic pieces (see images) that fell off. they are not attached to the tripod in any way, and it took me a long time to figure out what they were. After I had figured out they were the 'shock' absorbers, I couldn't not for the life on me put them back on and then back into the outer center column, it took a VERY long time to figure out how to assemble it back together. I'd suggest just not taking out the inner center column if you can help it.Another con would be that in order to get this tripod into monopod mode, you need to use spare parts. That means I need to keep around two small pieces that can easily be lost. If there was a way to be able to make it into monopod mode without using separate spare parts, that would be excellent.tldr.PROS:- Extremely sturdy- Good weight to it, not wobbly, probably dont even need sand bag- Ergonomic slides, extension, and feel- Study and convenient quick release design- Designed includes multiple small details that come in very handyCONS- Monopod mode cannot be assembled without using separate external pieces (which comes in your package)- Inner center column plastic pieces/shock absorbers hard to put backDISCLAIMER I received for review but all opinions are completely my own.

Solid stand, best for stationary or single-plane panning.
Pros:- The height and adjustability is fantastic.- The build quality is great.- Swiveling horizontally is very smooth- Even fully extended it's very stable.Con:- Because of the ball-joint design, tracking subjects that are move vertically means you need to use the ball-joint to swivel. This means the whole camera can change angle as well, which can be hard to manage as your tracking. It's doable but takes practice. Makes me want to build an attachment that has weight underneath the mount point to lower the center of gravity. Otherwise this is a fantastic stand.

Strong, but lightweight and dependable, versatile tripod! This one's it!
Joilcan 80-inch tripod is a lightweight, but rugged tripod that will stand the ruggedness of the outdoors. Made of lightweight, but sturdy aluminum it can handle any gear you throw on it up to 19 pounds. The three telescopic legs allow you to use it to its maximum height of 80 inches and although they do not require too much force to loosen and tighten, they easily hold their position providing a sturdy platform for your equipment. You can quickly switch lenses without removing the camera from the ball head in a matter of seconds. Its 360 degree ball head operates smoothly and can be tightly positioned to any angle and has a notch on its side to allow you to position the camera vertically for portrait shots and easily allows for hands free photography. The ball head will hold the camera in any position even when using the added weight of long lenses. It is exciting to use the 360 degree markings at the base of the ball head to overlap your shots and create beautiful panoramic photos. This tripod also allows you to untwist the center column and unscrew the weight hook from the bottom to remove the column and connect it via an included 3/8″ Screw to the marked tripod leg that can be removed to use as a monopod whenever a monopod is more convenient and wherever tripods are not allowed, but monopods are and for quick action sports. Setting up the monopod takes only a few seconds and you can quickly continue taking your shots. I was able to completely level the camera using the built in bubble leveler and the three extension legs even when the terrain was completely uneven. Also, the three tripod legs have a rubber stopper where they meet the floor that can be positioned to reveal a metallic tip if extra grip is needed in rugged places, or they can be hidden away inside the rubber tip to use indoors on ceramic floors. If you need to take steady macro shots, the ball head can be removed from the center column and can be placed underneath after removing the weight hook to get up close, steady and personal to any flower you might want to capture close to the ground. The only con I found is that the 3/8” screw can become too tight to remove by hand when disassembling the monopod to put the center column back onto the tripod. Without a multi tool, this could become an inconvenience if the screw becomes too tight to remove by hand. I tend to use the tripod a lot when hiking, so this is not a problem, because I make a point of having a multi tool with me. Perhaps a slot at the ends of the screw would allow for easy removal with a coin when this happens.Overall, I would definitely recommend this tripod to anyone looking for a lightweight, rugged and dependable tripod to take along on their adventures or to use at any other occasion, even special occasions such as weddings because it is a beautiful tripod.Pros: Lightweight, strong aluminum, sturdy, professional 360 degree metal ball head, portrait mode, panorama markings, converts to monopod, allows for inverted placing of the camera for macro photography, raises to 80 inches high, rubber grips with metallic tips on legs, aluminum and rubber parts to tighten and loosen legs, metallic quick release plate, beautiful lookingCons: monopod conversion screw can become too tight to remove by hand at times.I would definitely recommend this strong, but lightweight Joilcan 80 inch tripod to anyone looking for a dependable, versatile tripod.

Solid tripod with great height
When it comes to doing good photo and video capture, you need a good tripod. After running through some less expensive models because I didn't feel I needed anything so good (you do, you always do), I finally opted for something solid and this one fits the bill. This tripod is solid. Weighing almost 4 lbs, you can definitely feel it when you carry it (by the way, the carrying cases are great and easy to get the tripod in and out of), but more importantly you feel it when you put your camera on it. I love the single knob to control the ball head since dual knobs often cause the head to move slightly after you found just that perfect position. While the twist locks on the legs aren't as convenient as the clasp locks, they are better suited for minor adjustments, especially on uneven ground. The one warning here is the metal "spikes" on the bottom of the legs. If you do studio photography, be careful of scratching floors or tearing carpet. But outside of that one precaution, I really love this tripod!

Great Stable Tripod with Lots of Features at a Great Price
This Joilcan 80 Inch Tripod is a great overall tripod especially for the price point. I purchased this tripod for many reasons, the 80 inch height, the spiked feet, and the reviews stating the sturdiness. I looked at many tripods on Amazon and couldn't figure which one to go with. I do a lot of landscape photography, slow motion waterfall photography along with photography were the terrain isn't always even. I'm a male 5 ft 10 inches and was tired of having to bend down on tripods that only went up to 60 inches. So the first thing I tried was putting the tripod up to its top height with my Olympus EM-10 camera with a 300mm lenses on it. The total weight was only about 4 pounds but on previous tripods I did not feel that it was sturdy when the center column was fully extended. Not with the Joilcan 80 tripod. I put this tripod to highest height with camera and lenses on it, and no problems, it was very sturdy and did not move ( i did this test inside, so I'm not sure during windy conditions). The ball head is heavy duty and yes it is removable! Legs are very sturdy and everything on this tripod seems to be made of high quality material. Overall I would highly recommend this tripod.Pro's - Very sturdy tripod even at its highest height and easy to setup High quality material for everything on this tripod. Removable Ball Head tightens perfectly with very little movement after tightening Higher tripod at 77 inches higher than a lot other tripods. Spiked Rubber Feet for outdoor use, to get a better grip in dirt, grass, etc.Cons - If you looking for a super lightweight tripod, this might not be the lightest one out there. Its not heavy but is heavier than other tripods that I've owned. That being said, keep in mind its heavier because it goes up to 80" and the quality of material is better, so to me I have no problem dealing with a little bit more weight. Angle Locking Knobs for extending the legs out are a little annoying. To change the position of the legs when the legs are locked, you have to push the lock and then push the leg inwards to unlock it and then adjust the leg to the angle you want it. It took a few minutes to realize that once you push the lock that you have to push the leg inward then adjust to where you want. Also one of the angle locking knob seems to be looser than the other two, so I will keep an eye on it.However I would strongly recommend this tripod to someone who wants a tripod that has a lot of features, is very sturdy even at its highest extension and wants a tripod that goes higher than 60 inches.
