Exactly what I wanted

Good for reed making, just too bulky
I am a bassoonist and make my own reeds. The color (purple) is perfect, and the texture/width is perfect. It is a LOT so it is a great value. I just with the center cardboard holding it up were a little less rigid. I had to unwind a bunch and put it in a small container because it did not fit in the case I have for all my reed making. It does not compress or bend AT ALL. If that's what you're looking for (a sturdy spool core) then this item is a 100%. For my needs I gotta give it an A- or B.

Color does not hold
Look, this is the brand if thread that I normally buy. I fell in love with this color after I had an order for a purple crochet bookmark. After I made it, I dipped it in starch and pinned it to my board like I always do. Next day I get ready to package it, and its blue!! Something about the color did not hold after being starched. Not sure what happened, but had to use a different brand, which makes me sad, because the other brand's purple was nowhere near as vibrant.
