Good Plate
This is a great deal on a larger universal mounting plate. All four sides are dovetailed so you can mount it any way you want. The non slip pads work great and I have had zero slipping. The best part is it will mount on any camera or lens. You cant beat this for the price.

Not so "universal"
The Photo Clam seems well made, but it does not fit my Vanguard (arca compatible) ball head. The dovetail portion is cut too far from the base to fit down into the Vanguard receiver. I do not recommend the Photo Clam. I have since purchased a less expensive Desmond DP-70 plate which fits perfectly. The DP-70 has the bonus of not requiring a coin to tighten and has safety stops.
