4Pc Argentina Yerba Mate Tea Gourd Cup Straw Bombilla 6oz Leaf Bag Kit Pack 4200

Very happy with this purchase! While attending the Chile vs Colombia Copa America match this Summer (2016) I noticed some players drinking from a strange container. My friend told me the container was likely a gourd and the beverage it contained mate, which he said was quite popular in Central and South America. A few months later I decided to try mate and, after comparing this "kit" with others, purchased Mategreen's gourd, bombilla, and yerba. To "season" the gourd I had to use nearly half of the leaf provided, so I only got a couple of gourds full- lasted two or three days. The flavor was mild -- which is great for those giving mate a try for the first time -- compared to other brands I've tried since running out of this. Actually wish I knew what brand it was, I'd stock up! :D Everything I received was exactly as pictured, gourd is green (shape/size will vary, obviously), bombilla is identical to the one pictured, as is the scoop and bag of leaf.A few words of advice to those getting started, be sure to check out a video or instructions as to how to prepare mate, nothing tricky but there's a technique. Also, *this kit is great* but you'll probably want to pick up another, full-size, bag of leaf when you order. I purchased con palo (with stems) and sin palo (without stems) when I restocked. Preference would be con palo, it seems to be more mild in flavor and effect; the sin palo was very intense- while I can drink con palo all day and not feel jittery or otherwise uncomfortable, sin palo was like yerba concentrate... I had jitters by Noon, heartbeat was rapid, stomach was a bit upset. The leaf I received with this kit was con palo and very pleasant.

It's a nice colored Gouda and all but I feel like if I am drinking out of a fancy cardboard cup. Def let it sit with warm water for more than 20-30 minutes before you actually use. The actual Yerba is great!

When I recieved this package, the cup had a hole in it. I tried for several days to reach someone at the number provided and there WAS NEVER AN ANSWER!!!!! I would never reccomend this company/person to anyone for purchases.
