YMLDouble Bolt Dragonwood Perch, 40 by 1.5 by 2-Inch

It's pretty cool looking in the cage and I really like it, but the jury is still out with my parrot. He likes to pretend he hates anything new and is very slow to warm up to new perches in particular. I think once he actually tries it out, he'll like it and will enjoy picking at the bark on it, but he's still in avoidance mode.My only complaint is about the washers on the ends. For such a large perch, I think a larger washer is in order. It was very difficult to line them up just so on the bars and then tighten the wing nut without one of the washers slipping through. I'm sure the subsequent banging around and flopping about of the perch when it fell repeatedly didn't help warm my bird up to the perch. But even if he fell in love with it at first sight, I'd still give 4 stars based on the inadequate washer size alone. Otherwise, it's great.

Only 3 stars because it had a lot of bends, two notches that had sharp edges and one end where the bolt went in was split. We have a goffin cockatoo and she doesn't like change much. I installed it and put her in another cage while I took out the old perch she chewed through. She didn't like it at first, but by the second introduction she warmed up to it although she doesn't look happy in the picture. We'll see how long it lasts.

This perch is perfect for my Macaw, she loves it! After reading the reviews that the perch was a bit smaller than 40inches, I decided it would be the right fit for her new cages width ( 36 inches)We had to angle it a bit and it’s exactly what we wanted. Like I said our Macaw loves it.

Prompt shipment- as described. Big and sturdy- provides natural footing for my conures. Length was accurate and exactly fit my flight cage- no additional adjustment needed.

MISLEADING MEASUREMENT, as it includes the various bends in the wood. So, although the one I got is a bit over 40", the large bend in it makes it actually for use in a 38" cage. If you require a precise measurement for a particular cage, I recommend purchasing the normal, straight perches where there won't be a variation in wood lengths due to the different shapes/curves in individual pieces.
