NOT for Powermatic Model 10 Mortiser
I'd guess these are fine for some machines. But they're are NOT long enough to work in a Powermatic 'Model 10' stomp mortiser. Maybe not applicable information for too many folks, but thought I'd warn you just in case you're like me and trying to save $220. We really do need to buy PM's 4pc $250 set. Dang.

Sharp
Works better than expected in my drill press, not mortise machine. Uses soft touch.

Not for the perfectionist
Not a precision set of tools but good enough and affordable for the weekend woodworker. The end of the drill bit extends outside the chisel box resulting in some rounding of the square hole sides.

Will not cut soft wood.
I am apparently going to have to buy a set that costs 3 times as much money to get the quality that I want.

If you need it for very occasional use it might be useful.
Very cheap. Good to have a set of mortising chisels for the price, but after I used the 1/2" chisel a few times it was bent and not usable. Sharpening did not fix it, sadly it is just made with cheap steel.

Not as accurate as I thought they would be.
I bought a set because I wanted to use them to hollow out a 2" x 2" x 4" piece of hardwood to make a business card holder. I found that they didn't cut as square on the sidewalls as I thought they would; however, I only bought a mortising kit to attach to my drill press and that kit was a problem in itself for mounting and accuracy. The other problem with mortise bits, is that they leave a small drill hole in the bottom of the wood. It wouldn't be a problem if I was using it simply as a tool to mortise a piece for a joint; however, I'm using it as an exposed/finished piece of wood. The way I solved that problem was to order a set of steel, end mills and used them on my drill press, creating a simple milling machine with the use of a two-axis vice mounted to the bed of the drill press. It easily squares the sides of the wood and also removes the the drill holes left in the bottom of the wood.

Bought for my Shop Fox Mortiser
Haven't used them yet, but they appear to be the same quality as the bit that came with it.
