Dave Hilts, the founder of PaddleAir, Inc. and the creator of the Ergo, launches his latest invention: The Rib Rocket. The California-designed Rib Rocket has strategically placed PVC foam padding sewn into areas where the ribs come in contact with the board during prone paddling. The padding is just enough to soften the impact where cartilage bone meets board and glass. We found that more surfers have been suffering rib pain because of the new EPS epoxy boards that are much harder than traditional fiberglass resins. The Rib Rocket addresses these problems and offers a comfortable solution for all that suffer from rib pain. The Rib Rocket features a 2mm Neoprene front panel with sewn-in PVC padding for comfort and stability and a Lycra back for a fine fit and cooler material for warmer climates. Also, a board short loop connects the garment to trunks to prevent ride up and a side draw string to snug the garment around the waist. Additionally, it provides 50+ UFP protection from the sun. It's "Pure Rib Pleasure." The Rib Rocket now comes in two styles: The original Rib Rocket Lycra/Neoprene Black Vest and introducing the new Rib Rocket Lycra/Neoprene Tropic White/Gray Vest. Its tropic white back and pale gray front will reflect the heat of the sun to protect your skin and keep you cool, while still providing the same rib support as the black vest. In colder conditions, it slips over a wetsuit and makes you more visible to other surfers on overcast days. NOTE: The Rib Rocket should have a snug fit when put on. Use your weight (in pounds) to find your size. 120-130 lbs=XS, 130-145 lbs=S, 145-160 lbs=M, 160-175 lbs-=L, 175-200 lbs=XL, 200-220 lbs=XXL, 220-250 lbs=XXXL. Order one size up if you are close to the top end of the weight range.

Came tight / lots of chest compression
Received The Rib Rocket in Hawaii without the usual delays and excuses from Amazon. Yea! The medium size is very tight on my 160 lb. 5’10” 42” chested old bod. Called paddle air and talked to the inventor. I used the rib rocket after being reassured I had purchased the correct size & it would stretch with use.First use: 3.5 hr session 1/3 mile paddle to reef. The padding relieved chest pain from the 55 year old surfers knots on the bottom of my ribs & sternum. I experienced discomfort afterward in my sternum, but the bruising I usually get from paddling didn’t occur.Inspecting the Rocket after I used it. I noticed loose stitching & loops in the sewing of the padding. They weren’t torn or broken, just poor assembly practices.I was told there is no upper back support from the vest. I certainly felt better supported.I certainly hope it stretches... bitch to get off by myself!I never give 5sAn easy 4, except for the stitching.BTW. I’d buy another!

This is exactly what I needed to be able to stay in the water a lot longer. No more breastbone and rib pain :) What a releif. I highly recommend the Rib Rocket if you suffer bone pain while paddling.

Amazing
Bought this after a broken rib sidelined my (almost daily) surfing. Doc said 4-6 weeks to fully heal. I was back out there two weeks later with this vest and now I will not surf without it. Thanks PaddleAir!
