Works - does the job
This was for a very small battery (or DC adapter) powered under-counter fluorescent fixture - could not find replacement anywhere I looked - figured I'd try to find it online and ... what do you know? Got it, put it in, powered it up and it works. A side note: If you have a small 6-volt fixture like this, I've noticed that it takes a longer time for the lamp to fully "charge" when using batteries as opposed to using the adapter. Could be weak batteries though.

Great for use with pets or plants, high quality
This bulb works perfect for my pet canary bird. The 6700K bulb puts out both UVB and UVA rays. I have a UVB meter and I measured it myself at about ~6 microwatts per cm2 at about 6 inches away. I attached it to the top of my 'small' bird cage directly over the canary's main perch. He loves to sit under it. The UVB helps his body create natural vitamin D in order to metabolize calcium. The UVA helps his mood and appetite etc. The 6700K is at near correct color temperature. This bulb would also be great to put near plants as well or over a small fish tank. I purchased this modern fixture with a high-quality electronic ballast for it's use: "GE Slimline Fluorescent Under Cabinet Light Fixture, 8-Inch 10167" .

I saved a buck.............
Its hard to understand why, but I could have bought this bulb in a light fixture for less than than a buck more locally. I know that the fixture MFG'r buys the bulb in bulk to keep the price down, but why is there more profit in selling the bulb alone than selling the whole &%#*$ fixture beats me! Well I saved a buck and done my duty to the environment (i.e. not throwing away the fixture) by buying this bulb. It works and I'm happy!

Great Bulb
I had a hard time finding this size tube for a vintage Schlitz beer sign. I was thankful that I located this particular one and found the pins and bulb length to be perfect. The only issue I had was the metal end caps that hold the pins are fairly thick (slightly larger in diameter than the glass tube). This made it hard to install because this metal edge interfered with the pins seating all the way in the socket. I was eventually able to gently twist the bulb into place and it works just fine. So if you have to put this bulb in tight quarters this may be a concern. If you have lots of clearance around the pin socket, then you've got no problem.
