After over six decades of being a Levi's fan it's time to call it quits
This is basically about overall quality. Over the years I have watched the quality decline in every aspect.Inconsistent workmanship. One used to be able to count on one pair of jeans being the same as previous pairs. Not the case anymore. In my last three orders of multiple pairs of 501s, items in the same order were inconsistent. The fabric gets thinner every year.Right rear pocket attachment point develops a hole over a short period of time. I do not carry anything in that pocket.A pair of Levi's would last years. Six months is considered amazing with today's product. These are made in more countries that I can begin to count with some of the worst quality control and workmanship that I could document using ISO9000 standards.Bottom line. Overpriced junk. This is the last time I will deal with this company who was based on quality in the past but has lost their commitment to the primary factor that made them great. Time to try Wrangler once again next go around. Ordered them in the past and went back to Levi's after the thinner material seemed cheap. This latest Levi order makes Wrangler look more attractive with the latest, additional decline, in Levi quality.

Absolute garbage. Levi Strauss should be ashamed of themselves.
I am so very disappointed in Levi Strauss. My husband has worn Levi's all of his long life ( me too before I found another brand that are made to fit a woman 5'8", 140 pounds with a high waist.) Used to be when I had a new pair of jeans they started being less stiff after maybe 2 years and 500 washes, & looking old at 5 years. We wanted them to look old back in the time I was a teen ager in 1968. These jeans were washed once before the canvas at the watch pocket was losing it's color and the thread was showing!!! I washed them with men's white t-shirts and the color came off on them. I can't tell you what a let down that was. No matter how old they were back when they were made with quality instead of on the cheap they never shed the color and the actual material, with the shoddy canvas or whatever it is made to last maybe a year for $50.00. It is really ridiculous. I have had another brand that I am wearing now for 15 years. I still get whistled at when I wear these. I won't ever buy Levi's gain, for any reason. I don't know how all of you feel, but I would rather pay double or more and keep the quality instead of ruining the t-shirts too. All around the cuff, the pockets, just both pair of jeans are literally garbage. He had to go to a local store to get a different size than he wore for many years to enable me to order the correct new size as he had lost weight as an older man and needed new ones anyway. The old ones were a couple decades old. Cruddy looking, but they got that way with years of wear. I am going to write a letter to the Levi company itself also. Total trash. Do not buy.

What happened to Levi's?
Ordered exactly the same jeans as I did 4 months ago, same size and color, and from the same vendor. The previous order was exactly as I expected, and fit perfectly. Still do. I expected exactly the same jeans in this most recent order, but got something that is tighter, shorter, in lighter fabric, and with a "striated" appearance in the fabric. They seem like cheap, counterfeit knock-offs of the original. How does that happen when you hit the "order these again" button on your Amazon account? Is quality control dead at Levi's, or maybe these are not even real Levi's?

just to loose up the fibers so the legs would even bend at the knees These are like tissue paper in comparison
I've worn these all my life, almost 70 years, but the quality has dropped a lot over the years even more so lately and of course the price went up, $10 more than my last pair cost here. Levi is spinning in is grave at the shameful quality of these, For years, decades, several generations, a new pair had to be broke in, you beat them with sticks and rocks dragged them through mud puddles, just to loose up the fibers so the legs would even bend at the knees These are like tissue paper in comparison. And last about as long if you still work hard for your living, But now that industrial hemp is again allowed to be grown the Original Version could be brought back. But if they do Mark My Words the price will more than double, not because they will cost more to make Because they will last 5 times or more longer. Until then we are getting ripped off with an inferior over priced product. And made in China, or anywhere but the USA, is a real huge insult to Levi Strauss and the American Worker Levi made them for. So Sad

Levi's have lost me as a customer
Have been wearing Levi's for years. They fit as usual. I enjoyed them because I always knew what size to order, and I thought I enjoyed the fit. However, recently Levi's have been poorly made. The material is thin and doesn't hold up. I also have found that the crotch area tends to pinch my tender spots when I sit down. After spending $50 for a pair or jeans and having them get torn in the crotch area after a week or working, I have since changed to Wrangler. I have found the 47 fit to be similar to Levi's, yet much stronger, and i don't experience the crotch pinch and tear like I do with my old 501's. I will say that I keep one new pair of 501's in the closet for my going out jeans. The color of 501's is hard to match in other brands, so when I need a more fancy pair to wear out, I still go to my one pair of 501's. If you work in your jeans, I would recommend trying a pair of Wrangler 47's for a more durable and half the cost pair of jeans.

While reasonable jeans in themselves, less desirable than the older "real" 501s.
Ok. I miss the classic 501s with shrink to fit, heavy denim. That said, these new 501's seem reasonable jeans for what they are. They fit OK out of the box and had no discernible shrinkage with the first washing. It remains to be seen if I can get these to shrink a bit (in some areas) and stretch a bit (in other areas) for that super-comfortable 501 fit. The lighter-weight denim seems less durable. These jeans are only disappointing in comparison with how 501s used to be.

Really Disappointing poor quality low grade denim - failed within a year.
Just 12 months wear! Just 12 months. What has happened to Levi's commitment to quality? The fit was great - I have bought 501s over the years and like the fit, the colour, and up until this pair I have liked the hard wearing nature of the product. However, the denim has given way at the crutch and on the inside leg. They are now totally unwearable. I cannot believe how frail and poor the denim is on this pair. I am very disappointed. Previous pairs have lasted much longer. Either I was unlucky and the jeans were made from faulty cloth, or I just got what Levi is serving up these days. Anyway, at £72, delivered I will not be buying these again.

No complaints
Was a bit weary as seen a few ‘Fake’ item reviews. I bought three pairs from Amazon. No complaints - seemed a good quality item.I went to an official Levi’s store to make enquiries. These Amazon pairs passed. They are official.Having said that, some issues with the seems - they are certainly not up to Levi’s standard. So suspect these may be seconds or items not for mainstream sale. Also to be aware of. BigBoston - no registered company and no website! Consumer rights seem lax and everything has to be handled via Amazon.I’ve washed one pair as instructed. No complaints either. Given the price paid (less than £40) absolutely no issues here!

Good company to buy from if something goes wrong.
The jeans were faulty when they arrived with the lower fly button missing and the material frayed. Therefore it might seem strange to give the product a 5 star rating but the way this issue was dealt with warrants the rating for this web site. The refund for the returned item was instant on the same day they recieved the returned item and the return postage for the faulty goods was also refunded on the same day. It's reasurring that the company acts in this eay to resolve issues.

Levi 501 black
Genuine Levi 501, supplied by Jean Scene, decent price at £48, one thing I did notice however is the difference in fabric, usually buy these when on holiday in USA and they are generally made in Mexico when bought over there, these were made in Pakistan, fabric is a bit softer than the Mexican pairs or a pair I have made in Egypt, depends how you prefer your denim really but I much prefer the Mexican manufactured 501 to Pakistan as I prefer the stiffer denim. All in all can’t grumble at this price, just washed them for the first time and as you’d expect there’s no fading.
