These were twice the price of other light blocking shades, and I purchased them as they are advertised as being noise reducing. We recently bought a home that we did not realize had a train track only 1/4 mile away. It sounds like the train is running through our back yard. I had hoped that these curtains would dull the noise a little. We can also hear the freeway, so I had hoped that would help. However, we noticed no difference. But, they are already up, they look nice, they block 100% of the light (except for what leaks in above the curtain, and they provide thermal protection against the sun. But don't expect anything for sound blocking.

These really do work - of course they don't cancel noise, just like noise-cancelling headphones don't make everything silent. These are perfect for city dwellers - just get the longer curtains and hang them as close to the ceiling as possible, so you get full window-wall coverage. That method blocks light effectively and really does quiet the whole room down. It absorbs sound inside also, so they'd probably be effective for a sound-sensitive environment like a home podcast recording studio.

I was looking for a room darkening and sound deadening drape. Home is near a major highway. This was a big problem.These arrived and they have accomplished what we needed. Yes, we recommend this great product.

These exceeded my expectations for noise cancellation. I just moved into a historic 100 year old home located very close to train tracks and a road crossing them. There are a few trains that go by nightly and I was having a hard time sleeping due to the conductor sounding the horn at the crossing. After I put these curtains up it cut the sound dramatically. You still hear it, but the sound was extremely piercing before, and now it’s nowhere nearly as bad and I don’t wake up when the train goes by. They also keep my room nice and dark. I highly recommend these!

First floor on a busy street, this actually works, it dampens the sound enough to not bother me anymore, it also took the internal echo I used to have on zoom calls, very pleased with my purchase, bought a second one for the other bedroom

We live in a densely populated neighborhood with homes close together. When the rude people next door moved in, they bought chickens and a rooster who starts crowing at about 4:30 every morning. We have a glass patio doors in our bedroom so the rooster would wake us up every morning. After hanging these great curtains, now we no longer hear the rooster anymore.

Was not expecting them to reduce the road noise so much. They made quite an impact and am purchasing them for another room.

We live in a 2 bedroom apartment in my parent's basement and between our kitchen and bathroom is the shared laundry room and pantry. This is great at muffling some of the noise as well as keeping the heat on our side of the house. Would absolutely recommend!

We bought these curtains to help with noise reduction as the apartment we rent is open concept and the laundry room doesn’t have a door and is directly off the living room. They are super thick and heavy, soft, and very high quality. They worked so well at blocking the sound of the dryer we got another set to replace the black out curtains in our bedroom - figuring if they worked that week at noise reduction they’d probably be great at blocking it light too. Let me tell you, they block every bit of sunlight in our room. My husband works nights and no longer needs to wear an eye mask when he goes to bed. We arranged them to over lap and extend past the window so that every part is covered and when the door is shut you can’t see your hand in front of your face. We were already very happy with the purchase but noticed an unexpected bonus - our bedroom was noticeably degrees cooler than the rest of the apartment. So we bought another set to put on the windows in the living room to help keep it cooler in the summer, and again it’s been amazing.These are the best curtains I’ve ever bought. They are amazing at reducing noise and heat, and block all sunlight coming into a room. I was originally hesitant because of the price when ordering the first pair but you get what you pay for and they are very much worth it!!

I find they are good at absorbing sound from outside . I mainly bought for room acoustics, they are thick but not to heavyThey do help room temperature. They work for me, recommended.

The fabric and color is noce but it is little more than a curtain. Very little soundproofing… it’s maybe sound muffling.
