Good for the nose piece in DIY dust masks
I like washable reusable dust masks. I bought one, but one of the elastic bands had gotten pretty worn. I decided to disassemble the whole mask and use it as a pattern to sew another one.I discovered that the bendable nose piece (the piece you can shape across the bridge of your nose to make a good fit) was just a double twist tie sewed down the middle to the lining. So I ordered a pack of the 7-inch ones. There are enough to make LOTS of dust masks. And there are plenty of patterns and videos online for making dust masks. After sewing one patterned after the one I disassembled, I came up with a real quick and easy method to make one. You'll need a large bandanna (the one I used is 27 inches square), one double twist tie, and some thermal microfleece type fabric for a filter layer. Cut a 6.5-inch by 9-inch piece of thermal microfleece fabric. Draw a line lengthwise a half inch from the top. Position the twist tie (you can cut it to whatever length suits you) just below that line and center it. Sew down the middle of the twist tie to secure it to the fabric. A round pointed needle worked well for that. Now fold the top half inch of microfleece fabric down over the twist tie. No need to sew a hem. Open the bandanna fully and lay it out diagonally (corners side to side and top and bottom), and place the microfleece fabric centered with the top edge positioned where the bandanna will fold---halfway up. Fold the bandanna top corner down to meet the bottom corner. That's it. Friction will hold the microfleece filter fabric and nose piece twist tie in place. Tie the bandanna dust mask on, letting it go below your ears and tie it around the back of your neck. Shape the twist tie to fit snugly across your nose and cheeks. That will hold the bandanna up. It's not perfect, it will tend to slip down after a while, but it's quick and easy to tug it back up into position. And, it's quick and easy to make.

They do the trick!
I'm using them to close plastic bags that store things in my basement. So, they are not a 1-use thing-- I open and close the bags, etc. They're inexpensive, but sturdy enough to hold up to a lot of handling. Definitely recommend! They're like very heavy duty twist ties.

Excellent heavy duty twist-tie with double wire
I can confirm that this is a heavy-duty twist tie ... it is the same width as a "normal" twist tie (5/32 inch), but it has two wires in it, and each wire is heavier gauge (#23 AWG as measured with a micrometer) compared to a normal twist tie. Also the plastic around it is really tough and solidly bound to the wire, making it exceptionally strong and durable. Excellent product.

Excellent quality. Extremely versatile.
These are the best ties I have found for plant training. With two rows of wire they do not come undone by the plant. Strong, durable, and santizeable.

Nice & tough
These are seriously tough twist ties. The only reason I don't give them 5 stars is that I've started using the AusKit rubber gear ties (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01F76AVDM/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o07_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1), which I like better.

Great quality
Great quality, just what I was hoping for and exactly what I needed. Because it is double-wide with two stripes of wire it was a little more thick then I needed, but I have the option to split it in half if necessary.
