DO NOT BUY: Poor quality and manufacturer offers NO WARRANTY for Amazon purchases!!
Unit worked OK for about 2 years. During that time, I found that it does have a very wide detection area-- at least 180 degrees-- making it impossible to "sneak up" on the light without triggering it (installed in the center of a 30 foot wall). Like other reviewers, I was disappointed with the detection distance, which seemed to be only about 20 feet in any direction when the sensor was mounted about 7 feet from the ground.Installation was easy enough, but as others mention, the arm for the sensor comes twisted in a very awkward position in order to facilitate packing and shipping of the unit. To reposition it, you need to twist the whole thing in a fairly unnatural way, which had me feeling like it was about to snap in half. This is all outlined in the instructions, so make sure to take a minute to read them and avoid some confusion. So that is all the good news I have. Now for the bad. Very bad. This unit completely died about 2 years after installation. It would not turn on the lights at all, not even allowing to override the motion sensor and switch the lights to "always on" mode. The red LED on the front didn't work either. I pulled the whole unit off the mounting fixture and checked the wiring back to the switch box, confirming that there was no electrical fault. I also connected the unit to my bench top Variac tester, which confirmed that the RAB sensor electronics had failed. But it gets worse.I have not been able to get any response from RAB regarding their warranty (which is advertised as 10 years for the sensor). When I found the terms of the manufacturers warranty, I was disappointed to learn that the explicitly disclaim all warranty coverage for units sold through third party vendors, and specifically state that sales through Amazon receive no warranty coverage. As much as I wanted to like this light, I have to conclude that it performs no better than a similar Heath Zenith unit, but costs about 4x as much. And based on my experience, the quality is actually worse (I installed a Heath Zenith in a separate location about 6 months before buying the RAB, and the Heath Zenith still works flawlessly). That, combined with the shady MIA manufacturer and the dodgy warranty terms, means I can absolutely not recommend this product to anyone.SAVE YOUR MONEY AND YOUR TIME: DO NOT BUY THIS LIGHT!UPDATE: the second Rab light, which i bought around the same time as the one reviewed above, has now failed. It lasted about 1 year. The Heath Zenith is still working perfectly, after almost 4 years. I don't care what brand light you buy, as long as it's not a Rab!!!

Great Design But Poor Detection Range
I purchased four of these after buying four of the Zenith Heathkit equivalent. I returned the Zenith models due to extremely poor quality, a sensor failure within 10 minutes of use, and the inability to point the lights in the same direction as the sensor. If one orients the lights in the same direction as the sensor, the lights get in the way of the sensor limiting its sensitivity along the sides. This is the result of a design that has been cheapened to the point that the unit is no longer functional for certain installations. Older Zenith units had an arm attached to the sensor allowing it to be mounted below the lights. The RAB units eliminate the problem of not being able to point the light in the same direction as the sensor because the sensor is mounted on a long arm that allows the sensor to be mounted below the lights. Also, the quality of the lamp hoods or shrouds on the RAB unit is much better than the Zenith as they are one-piece cast aluminum on the RAB versus rolled aluminum on the Zenith which mount onto the lamp holder via twist-lock dimples stamped into the hood. The hoods on the Zenith are so thin and flimsy that they become disconnected from the lamp holder housing in the wind or if a bird lands on them. I’d guess that the powder coating on the Zenith hoods is thicker than the underlying metal to which it is applied. The design of the RAB unit is great. It is made in the USA. The product hasn't been cheapened like the Zenith models. The wires are thicker gauge and longer making hookup easier. Most of the joints are sealed with gaskets and there is a plethora of extra mounting hardware to allow mounting on different electrical box styles. There is even a silicone rubber boot attached to the lamp holder inside the hood to seal the lamp holder to the bulb. These should be removed if using LED flood bulbs that have vents in the stems as the rubber boot will block airflow to the vents on some bulbs and could potentially cause premature bulb failure. The workmanship on the RAB is good, but not great. I did have one lamp holder with a stripped screw and one with the lamp holder screw loose so workmanship could be improved. My biggest complaint with the RAB unit is with the sensor. They lack the distance that the Zenith has. In best case conditions (cool outside temperatures) I get no more than 30 feet detection on all of the four units with the sensitivity turned all the way up and the units installed at a height of 7 feet off the ground. To RAB's credit, they don't advertise what the detection range is for this product but do recommend not installing above about 12 feet for best detection range. The Zenith claims up to 100 feet of range but I only get about 65 of range on the unit that I have installed in another area of my home, easily twice the range of the RAB.In summary, the RAB unit has a much better design, is much more durable, and has features that are better suited to my installations than competitive models. However, I am not happy with the detection range, especially since this unit is more than three times the price of the Zenith brand. If the RAB unit had the Zenith detection range, and they improved their assembly processes by a small amount, I'd easily give it five stars.Edit 10/10/2019. The sensors on two of the four of these units have now failed. RAB will not warranty these if they were purchased from Amazon. Do not buy these here if you expect you will need to utilize the 10 year warranty. With a 50% failure rate within 3 years, I suspect you will.

Good light but quit working after 5 years
Worked great for 5 years! It died after 5 years. When reading current product warranty it is only one year, but others have mentioned 10 years in past. Not a bad product at $20/year, but would have been nice if a light fixture lasted longer.
