EXACTLY what I needed
My Visio 50-inch plasma, purchased in Sept 2006, started flashing a few times before settling into a stable picture. Then, the flashing was followed by a power-down. Eventually, I had to restart it 4-6 times to get a stable picture. I just searched on "Visio plasma flashing picture" and got plenty of advice. Most of it said the same thing: replace the capacitors for $20. There were some detailed procedures and videos, and it looked like I could do it. Amazon had a vendor who sold kits for your exact TV, so I selected the Visio VP-50 kit, and received it in less than a week. The TV was mounted on a wall, so I needed a friend to help me with the process, but everything worked out fine. It took longer to dismount the TV and unscrew more than 30 screws to remove the back panel, than to do the actual capacitor swap-out. I would say the entire job, from unplugging the TV to plugging it back in, was about 2 1/2 to 3 hours. WELL worth the time. This vendor has links to show several videos of how to solder, how to determine polarity of the capacitors, and complete step-by-step instructions. If you can handle a soldering iron, or know someone who can, this job is very straightforward. In my case you could easily see the capacitors that were bulging at the top. I've attached a photo to show what the power board looked like before the swap-out. We only changed the capacitors that were bulging or leaking, you can see some black residue on the top of the capacitors in the photo.Like everyone else here who has done this, you'll be happy you spent only $20 instead of buying a new TV.

TRY IT, YOU MIGHT LIKE IT!
Original problem with set was it would power up with picture for a few seconds and then the picture disappeared, set remained on.After what seemed to be an abundance of screws , Vizio must own a scew factory, back of set off, two capacitors I D'ed as faultyon power supply, replaced capacitors, did power up test and T. V. set functioned flawless, AMAZING!Any one with finger dexterity and the repair kit with instructions from LCDalternatives should give it a try before disposing of a goodunit, P. S. unit stii operating flawless after this period of time and I still have bunches of capacitors left, only require the two usedto have the complete kit and a fully functional T.V., THANK YOU LCDalternatives*****!

Revived my broken TV! Worked perfectly!
This kit contained exactly what I needed to fix the TV. I couldn't be happier with it. Also, this is my first time replacing capacitors and I was a little nervous, but the instructions were good and online help also helped a lot! Was going to throw this TV away, but now have a perfect TV back again and saved thousands. Thanks so much!

It Worked!
Saved my $1000 TV with a $19 kit! I'm stoked!I was a little worried when I got the kit that something might be missing but all 19 capacitors were correctly sized and present.Included with the kit is a small coil of solder which is about half of what is needed to get the job done. Go to Radio Shack or some place like that and get some additional .032 solder wire. Be care when de-soldering and don't do what I did, which is to pull 2 solder pads off the board. Use the supplied ribbon to soak up the solder then straighten out the leads first, then gently work the caps out.All in all I am so pleased that I spent so little money to save my TV which I truly thought was headed to the garbage heap.

20 Bucks Well Spent
This capacitor kit saved the TV that I spent 1500 for back in 07. Took every bit of two hours to complete the install as one other reviewer said they must have bought out a screw factory when they made these TV's. I went ahead and replaced every cap that I could but still had a couple left over. Well worth the time and money spent. Before I was having issues were the TV when first turned on would flash green and picture and once it turned on would have "red snow" for lack of a better term. After a few minutes the picture would clear up and function normally but occasionally would just shut off. Replaced the caps and turned it on. Instant picture, no flashing, and no red snow.If you are having problems similar to this give cap replacement a try saved me a bunch of money.

Amazing results!
I have to completely agree with the 5 other 5-star reviews before mine. I bought this kit and a soldering gun from a hardware store and was able to save my $1200 TV. It took about an hour to replace 9 busted capacitors and when I put the board back on and turned on the TV it was back to normal. Just amazing how easy it is to do yourself! NOTE: I also watched 2 amateur YouTube videos for some tip and tricks on the technique of soldering and replacing the capacitors, but all-in-all I loved this repair kit!

Saved money and fixed it myself
Everything and more to repair my 50" sanyo power board. Requires soldering and de-soldering skills but it worked great for me.
