The media could not be loaded. If you haven’t had one, a soft close toilet lid is amazing. Kohler makes the best. These seats are heavy, not plastic, not going to crack and pinch you! Because that is what I was replacing, cheap plastic, and got a crack and yes, pinched the back of your leg. OUCH at 4 am!! This was a perfect fit for the long bowl toilets that came in our house. Perfect color match as well. Couldn’t be happier. You can swat this thing closed, but it’s going to close softly and slowly and quietly. Five stars.

Comparison of three seats.I bought, installed, and compared three seats(1) Mayfair 1847SLOW 000 Kendall (wood) $37.99(2) KOHLER K-4636-0 Cachet Elongated White Toilet Seat, with Grip-Tight Bumpers (plastic) $37.49(3) KOHLER 20454-0 Ridgewood Toilet seat, White (wood) $39.79.The three seats were similar in size except that the hole in #2 was approx. 0.5 inch greater in both dimensions.All three looked fine, although I prefer the more solid look of the wood (#1, #3). However, I think that wood gets damaged more easily from cleaning products.The two wood seats also felt more solid and didn’t move or wiggle, whereas the plastic (#2) wiggled despite the “grip-tight bumpers”. I would not buy it again.Seat #1 has a “stay tight” system in which each attaching bolt has a plastic nut that rips off when it’s been sufficiently tightened. As far as I can see, this now means that one can’t loosen the seat for readjustment or removal. I didn’t like this feature at all. I don’t see any advantage. Because of this, I would not buy again, although otherwise the seat is very nice.My preferred seat is #3. Straight-forward, attractive, solid.

One for each bathroom work great easy install

The old toilet seat needed to be replaced, so i got this as a return here. Knocked a few bucks off, thats always good. The seat is easy to install becaue it onoy has 2 screws. Its made of laminated compressed wood, has a nice designed and bevel on the lid, and the best feature is its sodt close. No more slamming the toilet and risking a break, the soft close keep the lid and seat from slamming a d also preserves the life of the toilet. Im glad i got it, ill be buying more for my other toilets.

Nice heavy, solid, wood-like seat. Longer lasting than plastic ones we’ve had in past which cracked/broke. Very easy to install. Hardware only plastic screws (others we’ve had metal screws). Some concern on longevity of plastic or loosening of them to cause shifting seat. Time will tell but for now most pleased with product. Made in USA.

Overall, Kohler Ridgewood toilet seats are well-made, stylish, sturdy, comfortable and simple to install. The soft-close feature is particularly appreciated... no more slamming toilet seats! My only complaint is that the "finish" over the painted wood is somewhat delicate, and care must be taken to not use harsh or chlorine-containing cleaners to wash and disinfect the seat and cover. I used SoftScrub cleaner with Chlorine to wash my seat and cover, and some of the shine came off, along with some discoloration of the painted surface.

Call me old fashion, but quite close that’s not plastic strikes me as the Nicest. Has some weight to it and a look of quality, not plastic look.

Good toilet seat, easy to install, a big improvement over original plastic seat.

I ordered 2 slow closing toilet seats at the same time. This one worked right out of the box, the other one was a slam, before it was even installed, so we had to return it. Kholer is a good name and sometimes you just get what you pay for:)

I would NOT recommend this one. Hinges are not built very well. Only had it for a few months before one hinge broke in half.
