Worth it for many reasons
I have been negligent in not reviewing this product. It integrated so quickly and seamlessly into my life, I didn't even think about writing a review until I finally had a small problem with it this week. What this is is a thin, hard, plastic snap-on case that goes around your MacBook Pro. It has generous vents on the bottom portion of the case along with little locking, stand-up feet and silicone pads toward the front so when you click the back feet up, the machine doesn't slide toward you. The top and bottom covers have spaces for all the ports and plug ins on the sides of the machine. It comes in many colors. I chose black originally so that my Mac doesn't look like a Mac when it's off. The apple on the top case shines through when the machine is on, and I think it looks pretty neat. If there was a tie-dye version of it, I would TOTALLY buy that, though.I didn't use the enclosed keyboard cover because MacBook Pros "breathe" through their keyboards, and covering them up with a silicone pad can lead to overheating. I just do my best not to eat or drink or type with messy hands when I am near the Mac. If you type a much as I do, you may find that you start to wear down the actual keys of the Mac, but I'd rather replace the keyboard eventually than run the risk of overheating the machine. This case may look cheap when you get it, but don't worry. It's going to do exactly what you need it to do. Mine, at least, fit perfectly, no problems. I saw that some other reviewers said theirs were imprecise in the fit. I don't know if that's because it was for a different product or if there is some variation in the manufacture of this case. I have had to take this case off twice, and found it easy to do with a little attention to where the tabs on the case are located. The aluminum-body Macs are just begging for scratches, dings, and dents from daily, even careful, use. This cover was one of the first things I bought to protect my investment, and I have had it for eight months, using the machine daily and carrying it around in my bag without a neoprene sleeve. I recently had to take my Mac out of this cover to send it away for a repair, and was very pleased that the aluminum is completely unspoiled. Granted, I never SEE the aluminum, because it's under this case, but isn't that the point?A friend dropped my messenger bag into an amazingly dirty puddle this last summer when we were traveling, and I am convinced this case saved my machine. The inside of my bag was filled with gritty, black city puddle water. I immediately took the case off the Mac and wiped everything down (with *his* towel, hah!) and let it all dry. The Mac was unharmed. It looked like the case saved me from some major waterlogging and damage. I actually washed the case in the top rack of the dishwasher after that, and put it back on. A naked Mac felt so strange... :)The little feet are a great feature for lifting the Mac off of surfaces and allowing ventilation. I also like the angle at which the feet put the Mac for writing, especially when I am using a lap desk. I did lose one of the silicone stops toward the front of the case very early on, so I'd say keep checking your case to make sure those don't fall off (I found mine stuck to the inside of my bag). It's only this week, after eight months of abuse, that one of the little stand-up feet lost its locking feature. It still stands up, but it won't lock upright anymore. If you've ever had a key carabiner that went bad on you, it's a similar mechanism, but in plastic.I will probably just buy another case exactly like this (no tie-dye yet) today, because I like it that much and want my locking feet. For eight months of pristine protection of a very expensive laptop, $10 (it's on sale right now! I paid $13) is completely worth the investment. Make sure you order the correct model; they have cases for all versions. Mine is a 13.3 inch MacBook Pro, non-Retina display, and iPearl seems pretty clear in their descriptions which machine fits in which case. Keep your packaging to make sure it fits, then I do hope you enjoy!

Super easy installation, great protection
The media could not be loaded. UPDATE: 9/4/2012 - I have had several purchasers of this case let me know that their case fit their MacBook Pro very loosely. It was hard for me to believe because all three of my mCover cases fit snugly and perfectly. Then I had to get one of my bottom pieces replaced by iPearl and the piece they sent me was loose! It was so loose that the tabs on the front right and front left of the bottom case barely touched the sidews/top of the MacBook Pro. Now I see what the others were complaining about and it makes me wonder whether I was just lucky the first three times. So there may be a quality control issue going on with these cases now. It puts me in a difficult spot because I thought so highly of these cases and now I'm wondering if I can continue to rate them so highly. for now I am going to reduce my rating from 5 stars to 4 stars. I'll update my review again if need be.What follows is my original review, before I became aware of the looseness issue that some people are reporting.---------I looked at a lot of cases for my MacBook Pro before choosing the iPearl mCover Hard Shell Case. It seems that the company has listened to all the issues that were apparently present in earlier incarnations of this case and have brought it to the level where it is today.I love this case. It was super easy to install and is just as easy to remove from the MacBook Pro if you need to for any reason. Installation is a simple matter of placing the bottom cover on a table, grabbing your MacBook Pro and placing the back end of the MacBook into the case first, then slowly lower the front into the case and gently press the left and right corners of the MacBook down into the case until you hear the tabs "click" into place. Then ensure the back corners are secure. Next, just place the top part of the case over the MacBook lid and again simply push gently on all four corners until you hear the tabs click into place. That's it. In the video I mention clicking in the back corners of the case on the MacBook Pro, actually the clips on the back of the case are on the backside where the airvent is along the back edge of the MacBook Pro... that's why you tip the back of the MacBook Pro into the case first so that it catches those clips. This version of the case has a matte finish which eliminates the issue of fingerprints and smudges while diminishing the appearance of any minor scratches on the plastic. The Apple logo just barely shines through the Black case but that's OK with me. I think the lighter colored cases would display the logo more brightly then the Black case did. Personal preference I guess. I like the Black case since the bezel around the LCD is black, it just seemed to compliment that. The feet on the bottom case will raise the MacBook about a 1/2 inch which keeps the laptop cooler since air can circulate easily underneath the MacBook, and the bottom cover has lots of vent slots and cutouts to facilitate cooling as well..It's a great case and a terrific bargain. I'm tempted to get another color in addition to the Black because I can afford to at this price and a little variety might be nice. I believe this hard shell case compares very favorably with cases that cost two to three times as much. And the company seems responsive and eager to please.I read somewhere that someone was complaining about the slight "bowing" of the top piece so that it does not actually touch the MacBook case uniformly. It is true that the top piece of the hard shell case has a very slight bowing once it has been installed so that it is not touching the aluminum top in the middle where the Apple logo is. You can press down on the case where the logo area is and it will move down a few millimeters until it touches the aluminum. As far as I'm concerned, this is a non-issue. It does not affect my ability to carry my MacBook Pro in any way... it does not cause the top to pop-off the MacBook when pressed so it's nothing to be concerned about.PROS:Lightweight and fits MacBook Pro perfectlyMatte finish resists fingerprints really wellRetractable "feet" raise back of MacBook for easier typing position and to facilitate air-flow under MacBook ProPorts are all accessible, even Magsafe connector is unimpededScreen can be fully opened with no restriction caused by hard shell case.Case is easy to remove if neededThe price is right!CONS:The foot pads may inadvertently get pried out if you're not careful putting this in and out of a bag or pack. The back retractable feet are a bit fragile so be careful with them.

Fingerprints, but durable so far
Good for the price. Your fingerprints show up on the case so cleaning is constant, if that’s something that bothers you!

Excelente carcasa
Llegó en buen estado.Material duro, ligero y resistente.
