Not suitable for gas stoves
The first time I used this kettle on our gas stove (a standard sized stove, even on a simmer setting), it wasn't perfectly placed in the center of the burner, and within seconds, the silicone started smoking and separated from the steel base on one side. What a waste! The description calls it "virtually indestructible." I would ONLY use this for a single flame small camping stove. Don't waste your money otherwise.

Pours Great, Stays hot, rugged, collapsible
I've got a very small teardrop camper- and storage is at a premium, so a collapsible pot is perfect. It heats up well, pours smoothly and the silicon even does a decent job at retaining heat. It doesn't collapse perfectly evenly- but it's flat enough. Never had any problem with the handle getting hot- let alone melting as indicated in other reviews. You'd really need to have the flame coming up the side of the pot to do that. not for campfires.

Not really functional
I loved this the first few times I used it in our travel trailer. Then the handle melted, even though the flame was on low and the handle was not over the flame. Great idea but the materials are clearly not up to the task for which it was designed. I had to buy a stainless steel pot which takes up precious space but works.

Nice addition to camping gear
I love this! Saves some space in the camping gear! we were using a saucepan to heat water for morning coffee but it was heavier than this and held less water! We also used to have to make sure no bugs got into the pot of boiling water but haven't had any problems with bugs getting into this, even if we leave it out all day! We only use it for water and I don't know that I'd use it for anything else because since it folds down on itself there are grooves that I'd be concerned about food stuff getting stuck into.

Portable, flexible & versatile...camping essential
Absolutely perfect for camping if you're trying to pack as many essentials as possible in the smallest space available. One of our priorities when camping is to save space but to make sure each utensil & cookware item has multiple functions. We were extremely satisfied with how it's held up so far & the capacity far exceeded my expectations. I was nervous when I saw it about using it on a propane cook stove with the open style flame but weve had zero issues with it. I'd highly recommend this product if you want portability, flexibility & versatility!

It works well for what it is designed for, I like it very much.
I got this collapsible kettle to heat water when I'm camping on my propane stove. I washed it well, and tried it out at home on my flat top stove. It works very well on either and I'm sure it would work on a gas stove top at home as well. The only thing I was quite careful of is to keep the flame low enough that it wouldn't flare up the side of the kettle. Don't know that it would matter, but I'm always more cautious than careless with my things. Love it, it works well. BE SURE TO DRY IT WELL BEFORE FOLDING UP!

handle not strong enough
With the handle on the top the kettle began to collapse with the weight of the water.Returned and bought a replacement with the handle on the bottom.

I love the ability to collapse the kettle for storage purpose.
As I mentioned above, I love that I can collapse the kettle for storing, it's light weight and heats up the water quickly. What I don't care for is the handle is a little too flimsy. There is a small learning curve to closing the handle when the kettle is full, thankfully it was cold water that splashed all over the table. It only took one time of spilling water all over the table to learn the trick of closing the handle when the kettle is full. I showed my sister how to close the handle so she wouldn't have to make the same mistake as I, but she had to learn the hard way, for she too spilled water as she moved the kettle to the stove!
