Excellent Camera with Major Flaw
No, I did not make a mistake, the Camera is excellent with one major obstacle - it's reliability. When, and I emphasize WHEN, the camera works, it's incredible. Clear imagery during the day and night but the network connectivity is extremely spotty. There have been plenty of times I've gone to connect via the phone app and I get the message, "Camera is unavailable." The camera is ~4 feet away from my router in a neighboring room.To make matters even worse, the app, MIPC, that is needed is absolute trash. It has a very clean and intuitive interface, a large range of tools and features but much like the camera, works occasionally. By this I mean I can't enable certain settings like alarms/notifications or rename the device. Whenever I attempt to save a change on the app, I receive the standard three "loading dots" that to this point, has continued to "load" for over 3 hours.I bought this as a night monitor, when internet traffic is at its lowest, but even then, the reliability is too spotty and feel much more comfortable getting up and checking. The potential for greatest is there, perhaps with another firmware update, this thing will become more stable but for the moment, shop elsewhere :/

Exactly what I needed
I got this camera because we were switching my daughter from a crib to a toddler bed and needed a way to check on her during nap time and nighttime. I looked at a lot of different cameras wanting to find one that wasn't insanely expensive but also had good video quality. The camera has done a great job. The ability to rotate the camera on the app to see the whole room was a must and this camera does a really good job of it. The night vision on this camera is also very good.My only dislike with this has to do more with the app than the camera. The app is a little frustrating as far as setting sensitivity for movement and sound. You can set what times you want it to detect those things or you can leave it on all the time. I was going to just leave it on but it will notify you EVERY SINGLE TIME there is a slight movement. So when my daughter walked from her bed to the door I will get about 10 notifications in 15 seconds. It can get very annoying very quickly. I have now just turned off notification for during nap time and only have them on at night.Aside from the notifications being a problem this is a really great product.

One, major oversight
The camera is good and the sound detection is reliable enough to act as a baby monitor, BUT the app DESPERATELY needs the ability to snooze alerts for a selected amount of time. If you have sound alerts on and there's something going on in the room for a while, like carpet being stretched, your phone will be endlessly blowing up with hundreds of notifications, one after another, with no way to stop it except to change your notification settings completely to off. (I already have the noise sensitivity set pretty low. Any lower and I'd fear it wouldn't alert me when I actually needed it) This flaw is so annoying and is a problem so often that I probably would've rated it 4 or 5 stars otherwise.

When It works, its great. When it its not working, you dont know.
First of all they gave us three cameras when we ordered one... Which was pretty cool. I had all kinds of plans for home security, but I also worried that they did it to make me happy because their product was crap. I figured I would let my experience dictate my opinion.Pros:This camera Has great resolution and zoom and control. You can turn on night vision (IR) or let it choose, you can control the swivel on the camera with the app like you would a 360 video on say youtube or other 360 video experiences, (very intuitive.) you can turn on motion control, from my couch in a different room I can use my phone to look at my baby breathing. It has two way audio so I can hear my baby crying and can "push to talk" to my baby, or wife while she is in the room and I'm AT WORK. The camera itself is great.Cons:THE CONNECTION. This camera comes with an app that is only ok. The app doesnt tell you all the time when the camera loses connection with the app. Which means your baby could be CRYING ITS HEAD OFF for WHO KNOWS HOW LONG while you were sleeping. Actual experience. The Camera has bad connectivity. It may just be our wireless router but it is unreliable. The app (MIPC, the obtaining of an account for which felt a little sketchy but turned out ok. (This app acts like a hub for all of your connected cameras, because you can have as many as you want)) gives you an upload rate in kB in the top right once you've accessed the camera. Sometimes the number of kB stops updateing after like 2 hours and that is the only indication that your camera is no longer connected to your app/phone/network, meaning the image you are seeing is stuck and no longer live (which means if you arfe using this for home/store defense, . Some kind of vibrating big warning indication would be appreciated in future updates of this app.Summary:If you have an incredible network (router and internet connection/service provider), maybe this camera would be everything you ever dreamed. For the average joe using it as a baby monitor, make sure you have a good home network, otherwise your parental guilt will eat you alive because something will go wrong eventually.

Doesn't Connect To WiFi
This is a very frustrating product. I can only get it to connect to my WiFi network if it is already connected via ethernet through a switch. However, once connected to WiFi, and I disconnect the ethernet, the connection to my WiFi drops. The device is about 6' from my 2.4 Ghz WiFi extender (which no other device in my house has an issue with). I'm going to try one more time before returning this frustrating piece of equipment.
