Material Type:Organically Grown The Lavender Colored Wild bergamot - Monarda fistulosa, is native to Oklahoma and extremely hard to find. This product is available fresh only through summer. Clusters of fragrant flowers produce copious nectar from June to September and are highly attractive to bees, butterflies and rare moths. The petals are collected by hand and air dried in June by a professional botanist. Bergamot Petals contain flavonoids, essential oils and tannins, and are a rich source of thymol. Bergamot flower petals are preferably used in tea blends. As a tea, pour 2 teaspoons of bergamot flower petals into 1 cup/250 ml of boiling water and allow to steep for 10 minutes. A Few Petals mixed into your black tea makes a Fine Earl Grey. The lavender flower petals are organically grown and are free of pollutants. Enjoy these fresh from my own garden while supplies last.
