These hinges are pretty strong, attractive, and a great value. The lag bolts provided (8) are not of the best quality however. So, make sure you pre-drill, and don't over-tighten, and you won't have a problem. I substituted 4 of the lag bolts for carriage bolts (zinc coated, nut & bolt) as I needed to attach the hinges to the gate frame which is made of aluminum tube style material. These new hinges replaced identical hinges that were on the old fence, and I never have had an issue with 'em. Do make sure the flat head of the hinge pen is positioned on top, which will help prevent water, and dirt from getting in there.

I’ve used these hinges on 3 gates, and they are heavy duty, attractive, and don’t sag. Bolts at 2” long.

I am extremely happy with these hinges. They were easy to install and they really look fantastic. I had to drill a pilot hole and I used a 1/2 socket on my cordless screw gun.
