Very thick very light
They are very thick and light which makes it super hard to even hear a clack. They feel like cardboard. The Color is pale yellow and dry looking not shiny or rich.

Just Okay
On a lark I decided to try learning castanets. I ended up buying these online and a pair from a different brand from my local music store. The ones from the music store are a bit small so I was glad these were full size, BUT! I actually found these harder to use. They're really lightweight compared to the other pair and that makes it difficult to get a good ria. The sound was also a bit uninspiring and I doubt it would carry well over other instruments. Overall I don't think I'd recommend these, especially to a beginner, unless you're just looking for some clackers to mess around with and you don't want to break the bank.
