One DIY soda bottle water rocket launcher prefabricated parts kit with adjustable trigger mechanism, durable ABS plastic launch pad, 2 tent pegs, a set of StratoFins, and instructions for assembly and launching. Launcher ships completely unassembled with easy to follow instructions. Launcher will enable you to propel a 2 liter plastic (PET) soda bottle over 350 ft. into the sky using only water and compressed air from a bicycle pump, a foot pump, or an air compressor for tools and painting. Fuel (water and air) is essentially free and readily available allowing countless launches without additional expense. After pumping up the bottle to the PSI of your choice, you control when the launch occurs by pulling on the brightly colored string to release the trigger from a safe distance and out of the splash zone. Launcher supports most .5L, 1L, 1.25L and 2 liter plastic (PET) bottles. NO additional expensive materials are required such a wooden board for base, metal mounting brackets, or expensive pulley for string to operate the trigger. Materials and Tools Needed for Assembly: PVC cement, duct tape, scissors, ruler or yardstick, tape measure (optional), flat blade screwdriver (or 5/16 in. or 8 mm socket wrench). Materials and Tools Needed for Launch: Plastic (PET) soda pop bottle, water, air source (bicycle pump, foot pump, or air compressor). StratoFins will guide your rocket to lofty heights with straight flights instead of tumbling through the air. StratoFins are made of durable plastic and screw-on to a 2 liter soda bottle or smaller. The StratoFins kit includes 1 attachment ring and 3 fins along with an instruction sheet that provides information for creating a nose cone and several launching tips. This water rocket can be launched with or without a parachute attached since this configuration does not nose dive, but instead tumbles gently back to the ground provided the nose cone is NOT permanently attached.

It's a blast
There are a few design flaws (black base is weak), but all in all, this provides a ridiculous amount of entertainment for the price. Assembly is a fun project to do with a little one (my 5 year old helped), and it is a blast at parties (pun intended). Our biggest problem has been carrying enough water to the middle of a field to launch it as many times as is demanded by my son's classmates.Words of caution: trees love these things... Even if it seems windless at ground level, they can and will land fairly far away. A very large field is more than in order.

Love it
Great toy. This is super fun to do with the kids. The rocket shoots surprisingly high (300 feet? 500 feet?). Since the rocket body is just an empty soda bottle it can be endlessly replaced or modded. Looking at the parts, all of them can be found in the local hardware store. Thus easily replaced or fixed.Assembly was easy except for getting the cable ties in just the right position. That took a bit.We received this as a gift. It was such a hit, I've ordered a few more to give away.

So much fun to do with the kids
So much fun to do with the kids. Just make sure you have extra bottles or a very large open area to launch. This thing goes seriously high.

This is the one to buy.
My students loved it. It worked great once we figured it out.

Easy to build
Worked as advertised. Easy to build. I had to fix the trigger mechanism after about 8 launches.

FUN
Bought it for my daughters. Enjoyed the building process, and the launch. Expect more orders from my neighborhood. An instant favorite.

I was very disappointed with the "fit of the collar which kept the "ties" in contact with the bottle attachment. The only way I could "fix it" was to build up the cavity collar whee the ties hooked into the collar. A very poor fit at best. It would appear that the "collar" needs a diminished I.D. to make a closer fit . As air pressure builds up I am not confident a premature release will not take place.Otherwise the grand children were thrilled
