Buying More! Love These Things!
I am so happy with these! They allowed me the flexibility to make exactly what I wanted for my chicken pens, saved money compared to the pre-made feeders and were so simple to use with the included hole saw and a power drill. They cone with easy to use instructions, fit together easily and look great. I didn’t want something that looked homemade and these definitely don’t. I have 15 pens of birds, so it definitely helps to save money by making feeders myself. I know many people use pvc pipe, but for the cost of these, the fact that they are watertight with the seal behind the openings and look so great convinced me not to mess with cutting and gluing in pvc. Plus, as my containers age and break, these will be so easy to remove and reuse in a new container. Just remove the screws- no mess! I wanted a clear container so I could see the feed level clearly at all times. I used a small box made for hanging file folders from the Walmart office supply aisle because I wanted a fairly small footprint to save space in my pens. To teach my birds to use this I filled it from the inside as intended and then filled the holes from the outside to the top with feed. They got the hang of it quickly and now I have clean and dry feed all the time. I lined the top with foil so if they roost on top it’s easy to clean. I’ve already ordered more because I’m so happy with the quality and ease of this product.

This is an awesome kit
I will add pix later. With this kit, I used an old, thin trash can to create the feeder (made it in my living room because it's raining with the hurricane in the Gulf creating so much rain). Then I used a 5-gallon bucket to create the waterer. They made it so easy to do by providing the tools that make the PERFECT fit for the supplies with this kit! My chickens are used to the red waterers but not too smart in putting their heads into a hole to eat (I have 21 chickens ranging from 3 years to 1). The younger ones picked up eating through the portal immediately. I still have to throw food around for my older girls. However, the water buckets that I had to clean every day are gone and now with the new buckets they have fresh clean water consistently and they have stopped wasting so much food! If you want to save money and time, this is the perfect kit. So great that I bought the nipples with the Tee's. Tee's https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07CZLYDVP/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o04_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 Additional nipples https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07DVM6RC9/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o03_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 and I bought 2 additional port feeders (my link is not working for this). I feel like this is money well invested as the chickens waste so much feed in traditional feeders and I spend so much time scrubbing grime daily from the traditional waters (I work 12-hour shifts and time is very valuable since I want to spend time in my bible) to ensure they have fresh water in feels like temps of 105 degrees or more here in central Florida. I will leave a 5-star comment on the other products when I have time. RentACoop has great products, especially for a backyard farmer like me with on only 1 acre. Their products are saving me time and money. THANK YOU!!!!

Love it so far..no more rats!!
Best think I have bought in a while. Works great. I put mine on the 5 gallon bucket and put two feeders on. I could do 3, but decided to wait and maybe make another one or add a third. I put the feeders on blocks so at the correct height for my chickens. Very little spill in front and now I can fill once a week. I also used medium sized cans to plug the holes at night so the rats cannot get in. And just remove in the morning. Rent a coop has been out of the plugs so tried the cans and it's a perfect fit and cheaper. The set is a little pricey and think the plugs should come with the set..but the cans work great. The drill bit was a plus too for its a size we would not have. Very easy to assemble and love it.

Great product!
Love this product. Although my feeders are outside, they are covered from overhead rain. I have not had any issues with rain getting into the bins. We had 70 mph winds the other day and no issues of moisture getting into feeders.Pros: Compared to other feeders the waste is negligible. Chickens eat from it easily. I only need to feed top off the feed 1-2 times a week vs feed two times a day. Time saver for me.Cons: Not really a con but you will need to shake the bins every other day because the feed doesn't always slide down and visible air pockets form.I use a 5-gallon bucket with screw-on-lid as one feeder. The 5-gallon bucket will only accommodate one port feeder.I also use an 18-quart (rectangle) bucket with a snapping lid. This accommodates 4 port feeders (snuggly).NOTE: The circular hole drill bit which is provided (if you elect to buy it) cannot be used with a normal drill (the drill is too small and the provided bit is larger). Luckily my husband had a larger drill type device (which required two hands to hold it). Possibly mention what size drill or diameter etc, is needed. If it was mentioned, apologies as I didn't notice it. Other than that, the directions to install are GREAT!

Great! but do not use with young chickens
Warning: I just had a 4 week old chicken die in this feeder! It climbed in, which was a snug fit at that age and got stuck. It had been no more than 6 hours since I had checked on them and when I did, one was dead. Managed to get itself buried in the feed. Still baffled a bit at how it managed to do that. This is my second year using this and I started with last year's chicks at two weeks old with no issues. I feel absolutely terrible and just want to help someone else avoid my mistake. All that said, these DIY kits are so easy to do. After a couple months, our 5 gallon pail had two nipples leaking but we've since switched to a different rectangular water storage container. The food and water are very mess free which is why I was eager to switch with this batch of chicks.
