Not really a soft fabric, I’ll have to check but I think it’s canvas material. That factor didn’t particularly matter to me when I purchased the pillowcases. Design is nice, gold is metallic, works well with the rest of my decor. They are white, so I don’t eat or drink near them, don’t know how easily stained this fabric can be, so not sure if they are ideal in a house with small children
