The trap and die holder/handle wasn't the greatest, yet it is adequate
I was a little concerned about the quality when ordered; however, when I received the tap and die set I was pleasantly surprised. The quality a d tolerances were exceptional. The trap and die holder/handle wasn't the greatest, yet it is adequate. All-in-all a great deal for the price. I've used it for both clock and firearm repairs.

Nice quality
After using these alot I find they are excellent quality. I've used them in aluminum, brass and steel with no breakage. Use care and take you time, back them out alot and you shouldn't have any problems. The ony minus is the tap holding system. Buy a General no. 163 tap handle for small taps and you're in business.

Yes, it’s a good quality set
Writing this review because I was happily surprised at the quality. I figured it would be Chinese made at this price, but thought I’d try it out. It’s remarkably good. Threaded many holes and made my own screws.....no problems. I don’t use Chinese taps on larger sizes, but these micro taps work great. There’s so little metal being removed, I find it easiest to simply chuck taps in a drill chuck rather than using the included wrench which is a bit sloppy with the adapters. I do use a die holder, as again the wrench has significant play. But the taps and dies are great. Buying these separately would cost you three or four times as much if your lucky. I’m not normally an “inexpensive” tool guy....but I’m very happy with these.

Five Stars
Great for minor bench work or hobby shop. A decent tap and die set for the home craftsman.

Very good value
I needed a 1-64 die, which was smaller than I had in my standard SAE set. For the price of two individual dies, I decided to try this set. It did the job (threading a piece of steel wire) without a problem, and now I have taps and dies down to 00. Recommended.

Surprisingly good tools for the price **EDITED**
I needed the small taps and dies for light work on a model steam engine, and didn't want to spend a fortune, so I thought I would give these a shot. Frankly, I'm impressed. The taps are sharp enough to go through 1/8" stainless without trouble and the dies work well on steel and bronze. I think I got my money's worth. Now, the caveats. I don't know how good the steel is, so I don't know how long these will last compared to more expensive US taps and dies - but for my use I don't care. The dies are pretty thin, so it's hard to get them started straight; but once they're started they work well. The little handle is for both the dies and the taps, using two adapter plates for the latter. These work well enough if you crank down hard on the lock screw. If I were using them every day it would be annoying, but for occasional use it's fine. You'll need a magnifier to read the tap sizes, but that would be true for any taps. It's really easy to break a tap if you put any sideways load on it, but that's true for higher priced US taps, as well. Normal good tapping practice: just go slowly, use tapping fluid, back out the chips, and make sure that you're exerting pressure along the tap and not to one side.Bottom line, a good value for your money if you're looking for inexpensive tools for occasional, light use.*****************************I've used these for a while longer, and I have to adjust my enthusiasm for these. They're still okay for the price, but they're getting really annoying. The #5 and #4 dies work all right, but it is just impossible to start the #3 - #0 dies, even using all the tricks like grinding a point on the rod.I can't tell what the problem is: maybe they're not sharp enough, or maybe there's not enough taper, or maybe the die plate is too thin, but they just won't get a grip strong enough to pull them into the thread. So you have to really lean on them to get them started, and risk bending the rod that you're threading. Really frustrating. The taps still work okay, though. They're okay, but I wish they had been about half the cost. Caveat emptor.
