Absolutely breath-taking, but it's not a mug. It's a matcha prep bowl.
Absolutely gorgeous! Bigger than I thought as it seems to be a Matcha preparing dish rather than one for drinking, BUT I'll be using it to drink my matcha lattes and matcha frappes anyway. Amazing quality. Breath-taking!

Matcha Tea Bowl
This tea bowl is not only pretty to look at, but also works great for working your matcha powder. I use it all the time! It's also definitely got the Authentic feel to it, and is not cheaply made.

Glaze is a bit messy but overall great
The media could not be loaded. I originally ordered this as a gift, and was worried about it, being broken and shipping as many of the lower rated reviews had broken bowls. It seems to have made it here just fine. I only wish that the glaze used to put on wasn’t as messy as it appears. Overall, it seems to be a good product for the price and a good size.

Most beautiful chawan I've ever owned
What a wonderful piece of craftmanship, the colors are beautiful, the texture, a pleasure to hold, whisk your matcha in, and drink it from. My first chawan was one of those dark brown, industrial, apparently molded ones and it did the job ok, but didn't look and feel as nice as this one. Then I replaced with a bamboo one that was very nice but didn't last much. Especially after someone put it in the dishwasher. Then I found this one and it's so much superior to the other two, seems so much durable than the bamboo too. We bought two, to share the tea with guests or my wife. Since they're hand-made, they obviously have slightly different characteristics and shape. The Mino ware seems resistant, like stoneware. Though we're hand washing them because it seems that's better to keep it for a long time. The only downsize is now I want to buy one for everyone I know as a gift. Haha. :)

Fake wabisabi
The wabisabi "imperfections" are painted on. Looks tacky.

Very cool
I like this handmade cup. It’s big enough to be used as a bowl as well. I hand wash it and use it often. It has two different glazes on it. Mostly a clear shiny glaze but there are spots where a matte glaze was used and you can feel the difference. Adds a neat and unique overall feel to the quality of this cup. 🍵
