It is NOT leather & it was very difficult to assemble; the screws stripped easily & nothing lined up. I contacted the company for assistance (as the insert asked) prior to sending it back & they offered to provide a return address label, but the item no longer fits in the box & we had to drill new holes & spent hours on assembly. I asked if they would just discount it, it since it was rather costly for a small plastic seat, & they refused. Now I am stuck with a $350 piece of junk!
