Could Do With Some Guidance For Use
This Derma PH Balancing Youth Oil comes in a 30ml sized glass bottle with a glass pipette and rubber squeezy screw top. It is easy to use from the pipette and a gentle squeeze on the rubber top gives a precise drop onto a fingertip. The main problem with this oil is that there is no instruction or guidance other than “apply 2-3 drops to cleansed skin” which is on the box, and once you throw the box away there is nothing on the glass bottle. Do you use this under or over a serum? Does it replace using a serum? Do you put moisturiser on afterwards?I used drops on a finger and started to apply to clean bare skin (no serum or moisturiser first) and three drops barely spread around a quarter of my face and felt a bit sticky to apply. In fact it dragged the skin around my eyes so much that I decided not to use in delicate areas because of the stretching of skin. Three drops is nowhere near enough because the oil is such a dry oil that it won't lubricate around the face. Once it's on it's quite nice and has a very pleasant delicate fragrance. The first time I used it I didn't put moisturiser on and found that my face felt tight and dry. I definitely needed to moisturise and did so on subsequent days of using.I'm not sure that my skin benefited from using this youth oil and because of its stickiness I would rather use a fairly average and similarly priced serum with my moisturiser. I don't see this as something which can be used on its own, it needs a moisturiser applying on top.

Smoothly does it....
Comments are from Mrs. Geekzilla9000: I’m not really a premium beauty product kind of girl, but since hitting the big four zero I’ve come to the conclusion that in order to prevent a forehead similar to Gordon Ramsey’s I need to start looking after my skin.I started using facial oils as part of by night time routine a few months back and enjoy the ritual of rubbing in the warm scented oil after a long hot shower. The consistency of the Derma Youth oil is not like anything else I’ve tried. I’m accustomed to the pipette application with my usual oil but this is so watery it’s difficult to apply and just runs off your fingers. Also it absorbs straight away so I don’t get the satisfying face massage I enjoy with my usual product. The scent is light and inoffensive but I would prefer the aroma of some real essential oils.Have I noticed an improvement in my skin? Not really. The science behind the active ingredient Matrixyl seems compelling (it’s supposed to stimulate collagen production), but I have been using it exclusively for 3 weeks now and I can’t say my skin feels any smoother than when I use my usual high street brand. The RRP is extortionate but the current Amazon offer price of £9.99 seems reasonable - given the huge leap between £83.00 and £9.00 - I can say I'm confident in the actual value of this product. In a nutshell: 3 Stars from me - a fairly ordinary product that will not see me straying from my usual facial oil.

Nothing to justify the RRP
I got this for my girlfriend. She says it smells nice and applies well, but you need more than the recommended 2-3 drops – more like 4-5. There’s no clear guidance on when or how often to use it, but she’s probably used about 20-25% of the bottle over the course of a few weeks. The box suggests that this is ‘stage 4’ of a five-step process, all using different products from the manufacturer. My girlfriend has been using this along with her normal products, rather than those recommended. At first, she used it twice a day (morning and night, with her normal face cream) but, after getting a few spots, she cut down to once a day. Aside from the spots – which are perhaps consistent with younger, teenage skin – she thinks her skin does feel smoother and less flaky. Since it’s only this product that’s new to her routine, it probably has had some benefit, but testing this did mean that she was more regular and thorough than usual with her face treatments, so the effects could be down to that rather than this particular product. At the time of writing this review (Nov 2016), this is on sale for £10, at which price my girlfriend says she’d consider buying it again, even though it’s a little more than she’d normally pay. It’s hard to say that we’ve seen effects that are worth the full RRP though.

Beneficial ingredients
This is very nicely packaged in a pink and white cardboard box about 4" tall. It is appealing to the "eco" and "scientific" interest with its use of the word "Derma," "pH," the leaf and tree images.Inside the box is a clear glass bottle with a rubber ended pipette, like those used for ear drops. I don't particularly like the smell of the liquid, faintly citrus with a hint of Tomcat. The box proclaims that "Your Treatment" includes Matrixyl, Almond Oil and Olive oil. Those with excellent eye sight will also spot castor oil, olive oil, aloe and sea buckthorn as well as other plant extracts. Googling tells me that Matrixyl is "palmitoyl-pentapeptide 3 and this is a peptide that specifically stimulates collagen synthesis and skin repair".I understand that Derma Treatment products are not tested on animals but I cannot spot the "leaping bunny" symbol anywhere to proclaim this important fact.On the face, a few drops smoothed in felt quite sticky and greasy. However, given the nature of the ingredients I would give this product the benefit of the doubt and use it as an occasional facial nurture. The price drop from over £60 to just over £38 is puzzling.

Surprisingly good
I have never tried any of the Derma Treatments before and I feared that this product would feel greasy on my skin, particularly as it is applied from a bottle with a dropper. However, after dropping three drops onto my fingers I then applied it to my face, paying extra attention to the eye area and drawing it out over the rest of my face. Not only was it not at all oily, it smelled fresh and pleasant and was quickly absorbed into my skin. In fact, the absorption rate was so fast that the next day after cleansing, I dropped directly on my face, a drop under each eye and one on the forehead and then smoothed it in quickly. The result was smooth and pleasing with no residue detectable at all. My tired skin looked refreshed and continued to do so for several hours. I have hopes that there will be a continued, marked improvement with each application. The current Amazon price of £38.37 (40% discount) is excellent value. I will continue to use it and revisit this review if I feel I can add anything more.

Completely cruelty free.
This is a first class product from an ethical company. All Derma products are cruelty free as they are completely against animal testing. That for me is worthy of five stars alone. The product itself is amazing, I applied 2 - 3 drops to my skin after cleansing this morning and the difference to my skin is noticeable. I was a little apprehensive at first as I have greasy skin and the word oil made me think oily skin. Not so. The almond oil moisturises and nourishes, and there is olive oil which penetrates deep into the skin for intense moisturisarion and reformation of the skin.I am delighted with this and am keen to try other products from this range and I am going to invest in the serum next. A little goes a long way especially at this price, I have seen this for sale recently at £83.00. So another five stars for the product, I wish I could give 10 stars because it merits it. Recommend.

A non oily feeling oil that sinks in quickly and makes your skin feel nice.
Im on the wrong side of 45 with combination skin. I was a bit unsure about applying an oil to my skin as i seem to have spent large parts of my life fighting a losing battle against oily skin but heck its called youth oil so why not! I thought it would feel greasy when i applied it (you only need 2 or 3 drops per application) but it didnt. It sinks in quickly and leaves no residue, it smells nice, no idea what of, im not good at that, could be flowery, could be fruity! My skin felt soft after application but not oily. Im not sure it will take my skin back 20 years but it certainly wont harm it. The bottle is clear glass with a dropper (like nose drops that were shoved up your nose when you were a kid) so its easy to just apply 2 or 3 drops. The bottle is quite large so it should last ages.

Not a big fan of pipette applicator
I'm not sure what to make of this skin product. First of all, using a pipette is really awkward in order to apply it to the skin - after trying to apply it directly, I opted out for having few drops on my fingers first, then moving onto the face. I have a reasonably normal skin, so I didn't notice any immediate effects - it absorbs quickly and it does feel good and refreshing, but the effects are not to dissimilar from using a good quality cream moisturiser. It smells nice, almost fruity and I suppose it would suit much better someone with dryer skin than mine.

Great.
Give your skin the hydration it needs with this light, non-greasy facial oil. Matrixyl works to improve skin tone and elasticity, aiming to reduce visible signs of ageing. A bit underwhelming.
I can't say I am overwhelmed by this product. It's original pricetag of £83 is extortionate. It's an OK facial oil. Non greasy....it absorbs in very well but didn't leave my skin feeling particularly hydrated or nourished.I normally use L'Oreal Extraordinary Oil and would rather use that any day.Not for me.

Loved it :D
From the Mrs. Definitely balances your skin and reduces breakouts without drying, absorbs really well, leaving skin soft and smooth, pleasantly surprised that it WAS NOT greasy given that its an oil. A little goes a long way and because its is applied via a dropper you only use a little - brilliant.

A dry oil for dry skin...
Derma Treatments Youth Oil, despite the name is a strangely non-greasy treatment for dry skin based on a cocktail of natural oils, mainly Almond, Olive and Caster oils, together with a slew of natural active ingredients. However probably the most interesting ingredient is the much less natural Matrixyl which is a peptide developed to stimulate collagen production in the skin. This Youth Oil is actually an emulsion, since the biggest ingredient is water, blended with some alcohol and that means it doesn't feel greasy when applied to the skin. In fact it dries into the skin very quickly and you actually have to smooth it over your face quite fast before it disappears. This also means it's tempting to apply more than the recommended 2 or 3 drops, which barely seem like enough, so it may not last as long as you'd hope. After application skin feels smoothed and you're aware of a light layer of product but no shiny or oily residue, it's truly a dry oil. It doesn't seem to offer any really significant moisturisation, but your skin does feel slightly restored - especially if you apply it after using a detergent-based face wash or something astringent, it feels like it restores the natural oils to your skin. I've been trying it for a couple of weeks and can't say I notice any significant difference but the skin does feel in-balance and less dry than normal. Based on our experience I think I'd only really recommend it to those suffering unusually dry flaky skin as a possible way to restore some balance, but as a daily product on normal skin it doesn't seem to offer that much to recommend it - and the original RRP cannot be taken seriously.

Brilliant!!
I'm really impressed with this facial oil. I was expecting an oil to be quite greasy, but it absorbs immediately and leaves no trace of a shiny face. I was amazed the first time I used it! My skin feels really soft (even softer than after using a face scrub), and is perfectly hydrated - no sheen on top, just feeling super comfortable and soft and squishy like it's been rejuvenated. The bottle of oil doesn't look very big, but seeing as you're only using a few drops at a time it should last a while. The instructions advise using 2-3 drops each time, but my hyper dehydrated skin needs more (about 5-6 drops) as it just gets absorbed so quickly I can't spread it all over the face.I am a total convert. Use this instead of moisturiser and you'll see a big difference.

Ordinary
My wife wishes to share with you: "Hm. Having tried it on a trial basis, it's good enough to finish the bottle, but I wouldn't buy another. I've done my usual new-product routine of just doing half my face, and continuing my old stuff on the other half (£5 a jar chemists-own moisturiser) .Pros: The product didn't irritate my dry sensitive 50+ year old skin. It was absorbed relatively quickly and left my skin feeling comfortable.Cons: There's no indication of the age range it is suitable for. The dropper for this, quite runny oil, was a bit tricky/messy to use. The product page currently implies the previous price was £83; presumably this is a joke. With the £3.99 postage the total cost is currently £13.98 which I would consider over-priced."

Really Hydrating
Very good oil that absorbs fast and is non-greasy. It's easier to apply using the included dropper, so you avoid applying to much or accidental spillages. The dropper allows one to apply in drops and it's easy to draw the oil into the tube. I have dry skin, and I can see how this will be of great help, though I am using it alongside another moisturiser.I am wondering if the Manufacture really intended to sell this oil at £83, because the current £9.99 looks more like a reasonable RRP for what this offers. The discount is too steep and I see that it sells closer to this price, though higher elsewhere, and often discounted.Very good oils with tangible results.
